sitting idle in U.S. donor-advised funds (DAFs) — optimised for tax efficiency, not impact.

Most founders exit with a genuine desire to give meaningfully. But capital sitting in a DAF doesn't help anyone or change anything. Good intentions without a structured deployment strategy are just deferred impact — and deferred impact is no impact at all.

Without a timeline
Capital sits idle for decades

DAFs impose no requirement to deploy. Committed capital can compound tax-free while the causes it was meant to serve go underfunded — sometimes forever.

Without a strategy
Capital moves without coherence

Ad-hoc grants respond to urgency and relationships, not clear priorities, dispersing efforts and limiting systemic impact.

Without expertise
Capital loses impact capacity

Wealth managers structure the vehicles. Advisors offer recommendations. But most lack the field experience and execution capacity to deliver end-to-end impact, from selection to evaluation.

What We Do

Turning Capital Into Real-World Impact

The Stewardship Office is a private philanthropic capital management office. We oversee the full execution of your philanthropy, ensuring 100% of committed capital is deployed into measurable, high-impact initiatives with rigor, accountability, and long-term stewardship.

Our team brings over a decade of field and operational experience across philanthropy, humanitarian response, international development, systems change, and academia. Unlike traditional advisors, we have worked directly on the ground designing and delivering complex initiatives in some of the most challenging environments. This operational depth allows us to conduct rigorous diligence, surface high-impact opportunities others miss, and ensure capital translates into tangible outcomes — not just intentions or reports.

Structured

Investment-grade frameworks applied to every grant decision — from thesis to disbursement.

Deployed

Time-bound allocation of capital into high-impact organisations across a 3–5 year horizon.

The gap between philanthropic intent and real-world impact is an execution problem.

We bridge it — end to end, from impact thesis to verified outcomes on the ground.

You set the vision. We handle everything else.

Built on field experience, not theory.

Dr. Clélia Compas is an internationally recognised humanitarian leader and innovator with over a decade of experience across philanthropy, humanitarian response, and international development. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology specialised in human rights, migration, and social inclusion, and has served as an Expert Consultant for the United Nations. She has founded and led two NGOs and designed and deployed programmes supporting some of the world's most marginalised communities, including in conflict zones, refugee camps, and detention centres across four continents.

This proximity to the field is what defines The Stewardship Office. Having worked directly in contexts where systems fail and vulnerable populations are most exposed, Dr. Compas developed a deep understanding of how philanthropic capital often fails to translate into effective outcomes—whether through delays, misallocation, lack of accountability, or disconnect from on-the-ground realities. The Stewardship Office was built to close this gap, bringing together field-tested operational expertise with institutional-grade diligence and strategic oversight to ensure capital is directed toward the initiatives capable of creating meaningful, lasting impact.

For founders who think
in impact, not gestures.

This engagement is for you if
Intentional capital allocation

You are moving from wealth creation to giving with purpose and structure.

Impact over inertia

You want your philanthropic capital deployed toward real-world outcomes, not sitting idle in a DAF.

Systems thinking

You think in frameworks and expect rigorous execution, not vague recommendations.

Founder-grade discipline

You want the same rigour and execution you applied to your company, applied to your philanthropy.

This engagement is not for
Tax-first philanthropy

If the deduction matters more than the impact, a DAF is enough.

Ad-hoc grants

We build multi-year portfolio theses, not curated one-off gifts.

Passive engagement

This requires periodic alignment and quarterly review points.

Unclear capital

We begin when capital is committed and giving budget is real.

We work with a strictly limited number of founders annually.
Every engagement is bespoke and long-term.
